Veteran’s Day/Remembrance Day/Armistice Day and the making of the Modern day Middle East

The eleventh hour, of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month, 1918, Germany and the allied forces (United Kingdom, France, and the Russian Empire) signed the armistice which ended World War I. Also ended with that was the Islamic Khilafah empire or the Ottoman Empire (Turkey left the war on 31st October 1918 to be precise). It was the war that really made the modern Middle East, and laid the groundwork for most of the problems facing the ummah today; Palestine-Israel conflict, destruction of the Khilafah, division of Muslim lands, installing puppet regimes etc. The western world commemorates this day in honour of its soldiers killed during the war, for Muslims at least it was nothing less than catastrophe.
